Jersey is 2 ½ year old, male, St. Bernard mix that weighs about 90lbs. He loves to be outside watching traffic- a fenced in yard would be ideal for this big boy (he does like to run, and does not always respond to his name being called because he?s so happy with the running). Belly rubs are his favorite along with treats of course. He is very over-focused with any sort of meat products though, and will either need to be trained to control his urge or just not be around meat. Jersey is fully housebroken and does ask to go out when he needs to. Jersey has a wonderful sense of smell and his hearing is amazing (except when he is running or focused on meat- then his hearing mysteriously isn?t as great). Jersey is not a fan of crates, but can be left in a gated off area with no problems for at least a few hours. Jersey would need to be slowly introduced to a cat but he has lived with them before and been fine. Jersey does know how to ?Sit?, ?Stay?, ?Lay down?, and ?Crawl?, and he enjoys playing tug of war with his giant rope toy, or even a raw hide, or piece of wood. Jersey does well at the groomers and the vet. He loves to ride in cars more than anything, but is protective of his car. Jersey is a dog who will do well with a single person or a couple who lives in the country and is very active. He needs a very strong role model to set the boundaries or he will try to be the pack leader. A home without small children (under the age of 12) will be recommended as he sees them as competition for all the things he loves (meat, toys, affection) and he doesn?t understand that they are his family, and little ones may not give him the right amount of space until he fully figures this out. Jersey is neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped.
